In the article "Young Scientists work Together and Win" by Jennifer Cutraro we learn about the first challenge by Broadcom named Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars or MASTERS! This program is a series of challenges where students must work together to come up with solutions to the problems! The purpose of the activities is to get students comfortable working in teams to solve problems creatively and to accomplish a team goal.
Recently you have each competed in a series of challenges as a team! How do you feel about working in a team?
Do you think working in a team is an important skill? Do you think LEGO's would be the same or a better experience if you worked independently? SOUND OFF!

If the Lego program was independent, it would be a lot more money for our school. Number one, some kids do not do well working alone. They work better as a group. We are different people who are good at different things. The Lego program is made to be group work. I enjoy it just how it is. I know as being me that I am not a good programmer. But I am good at building. Two people in my group are good at building and two are good at programming. It works out perfect.
